About Us

The Research and Identification of Early Occupancy of Southern Ohio, is a genealogy research center established by the Federal Creek Indian Organization and the Tutelo Nahyssan Tribal Nation to document the existence of the Native American Tribes of Ohio, who have long been overlooked by the principal culture of the region.

Our purpose in research is to help with the growth and understanding of the tribes in Ohio and their journey here as remnant tribes from other places in Ohio and in other states.  These groups survived with their culture, community and traditions intact.  Using these same strengths RIEOSO will support the social and economic advancement of Native Americans in Ohio while promoting understanding and cooperation with the larger community.
